Maggie was a guest on The Drew Barrymore Show today, where she and Drew talked about Support+Feed’s mission, and collaborated on a fun and easy plant-based dish — Maggie’s Kitchen Sink Veggie Burgers.
If you saw the segment (or even if you didn’t), you’ll want to try these burgers at home. They’re hearty and delicious, and also the perfect occasion to use up leftover ingredients like salsa, beans, grains, or almost any vegetable. So this recipe is a great way to also personally address food waste, because over one third of all food produced in the US is wasted every year, according to the EPA.

Naturally, the two also spoke about our work to tackle food insecurity and the climate crisis — work that has only become more urgent. Last holiday season, we distributed over 65,000 nutritious plant-based meals and pantry items to those in need. This year, in response to increasing demand and drastic cuts to government food assistance, we’re aiming to grow that number to 80,000.
If you’re in the position to help us reach our goal, you can do so here.
