Tropical Kale Smoothie

Get your greens in with this tropical fruity smoothie. The pineapple and ginger are good for your belly, while adding lots of flavor.

This recipe is gluten-free.

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 cups frozen pineapple and mango, any combination tastes good
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 3 cup raw kale
  • Thumb of fresh or dried ginger, 1 TBSP of dried or jarred
  • Zest of 1 lime
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Few ice cubes
  • ¾ cup of water or plant milk

 

OPTIONAL INGREDIENTS
You can add in a plant based protein powder or seeds like chia or flax for protein.

RECIPE

  1. Wash and peel your ginger if its fresh, add to blender
  2. Remove the tough bottom stems of your kale, add to blender
  3. Zest your lime and then squeeze the juice into the blender.
  4. Add the rest of the ingredients to the blender and about ½ a cup of the water.
  5. Blend! If it’s thick add the rest of the water and maybe a few more ice cubes and blend again until the desired consistency. Enjoy!

 

Chef’s Note:

If you have a little extra fruit you want to add, go for it!  Adjust the liquid as needed for your preferred consistency.
