Nutella Oats

This recipe is gluten-free.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup organic, gluten-free rolled oats
  • 2 ½ cups non-dairy milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp @dadaeats healthy nutella (a few posts back on my feed!)
  • Pinch salt
  • Healthy nutella, for topping (recipe below)
  • Banana slices, for topping
  • Hazelnuts, for topping
  • Flaky salt, for topping

RECIPE

  1. Combine 2 cups of the milk with the oats in a medium pot and bring to a boil, stirring frequently.
  2. Once it comes to a boil, reduce the heat slightly and add the cocoa powder, maple syrup, and remaining milk.
  3. Stir until the liquid reduces and is absorbed by the oats – the oatmeal should be thick.
  4. Stir in the spoon of nutella and add a pinch of salt. Feel free to adjust with more milk in order to reach your desired consistency.
  5. Transfer to a bowl and serve with banana slices, hazelnuts, more healthy nutella, flaky salt or any other desired toppings.
  6. Enjoy immediately!

Healthy Nutella

This plant-based, refined sugar-free Nutella recipe is incredibly delicious, and so easy to make! It’s the perfect healthy recipe to make in a blender. Eat it solo, on toast, or add to oatmeal!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup hazelnuts (dry roasted and skins removed as much as possible – this helps to make the Nutella smooth)
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 3 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup non-dairy milk (I like hazelnut milk from the elmhurst brand here, but you can use your favorite)

Method
First add your hazelnuts to a high-speed blender or food processor. It is important that you do use a high-speed blender here. Blend the hazelnuts until a smooth, hazelnut butter is achieved – you may have to blend for a bit longer than you think – you want it to be smooth as per the video, not chunky. Once there add the maple syrup and cocoa powder. Blend. Once incorporated well – add the non-dairy milk to help everything come together smoothly. You can adjust consistency with milk if needed. Store in a jar for 7 days in the fridge.
