Sticky Sesame Tofu

YIELDS: 3 servings

PREP TIME: 30 min

INGREDIENTS

  • 400g firm tofu
  • 2 tbsp corn starch
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 tbsp oil

Sauce

  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds

OPTIONAL INGREDIENTS

RECIPE

  1. Tear tofu into chunks.
  2. Toss today with cornstarch, salt, and oil, and bake at 190C/360F for 17-20mins (air fryer: 15mins). Alternatively: pan fry
  3. Add the sauce ingredients to the pan, stir well, and let it bubble until slightly thickened.
  4. Add the tofu, coat it well, and serve with extra sesame seeds.

 

CHEF’S NOTES:

  • This pairs really nicely with rice and steamed broccoli or cucumber salad.
